Hurstpierpoint Walking Football Club - Code of Conduct
Fair Play Conduct according to the spirit of Fair Play is essential for the successful promotion and development of and involvement in sport. The objective of Fair Play is to foster a sporting spirit, as well as the sporting behaviour of coaches, players, team officials and spectators, thereby increasing the enjoyment of all those involved in the game. Every person associated with the club should: • Be over 50 years of age unless this activity would benefit the health and well-being of the individual. Prior permission, before the first session would come from a committee meeting. • Strive to be a positive example for others. • Not use inappropriate, foul, insulting or abusive language. • Make every effort consistent with Fair Play and the Laws of the Game. • Know and abide by the Laws, rules and spirit of the game, and any competition rules. • Accept success and failure, victory and defeat with an equal measure of dignity. • Treat opponents with due respect always, irrespective of the result of the game. • Safeguard the physical fitness of all the other players including our opponents. • Avoid violence and rough play, and help injured opponents. • Respect and accept the decision of the Match Official without protest. • Avoid words or actions that may mislead a Match Official. • Remember it is always walking Football, unless otherwise noted, and players must endeavour to observe this. • Be mindful that the training session fee guarantees only one match. Note that no discrimination, such as sex, age, race, religion, culture, will be tolerated by the club. Code of Conduct for Hurstpierpoint Football Club Supporters Once our club has addressed the conduct of its players it will be able to set an appropriate example to its supporters in terms of their behaviour. The supporters are an organic component of a football game. The support of the supporters will contribute to the success of the team. The supporters are not expected to watch the game in silence. Encouragement of the teams by shouting, non-abusive singing, etc. may have a positive influence on the atmosphere in accordance with the spirit of Fair Play. The spectators are, however, expected to respect the opponents and the referee. They should appreciate the performance of the opposition even if they emerge as winners. They should in no way intimidate or frighten opponents, the referee or opposing supporters. At all times the supporters shall be encouraged to comply with the club’s position on Discrimination and Unacceptable Conduct. Note: Hurstpierpoint Walking Football Clubs committee reserves the right to refuse and/or terminate membership of any player not complying with club's Code of Conduct
